The children in nursery have created a lovely ‘video’ for their Mummies. We hope you like it.
Autumn – The new children have all settled into nursery this first half term and have had a wonderful time finding out about and exploring autumn. What fun we have had.
We have been learning all about ‘Growing’. We talked about how babies grow into adults. For ‘World Book Day’ we focused on the story ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar and talked about how caterpillars grow and we watched real eggs hatch. We had lots of baby chicks. What a fun term we have had.
After half term we will be learning all about growing. During the first week we will be looking at babies. Please could you send in a photo of your child when they were a baby.
Discussion Point – Talk with your child about when they were a baby. Look at pictures together.
This term we have been talking about weather. The children have enjoyed observing the weather and experiencing different types of weather including snow, wind and rain.
We have recently started learning about animals. This week we have had lots of conversations about our pets. All of the children enjoyed talking about and listening to their friends talk about the pets they have at home and what we do to care for them.Everybody produced a fantastic piece of writing about their pet. Please feel free to pop in and see your child’s writing. .
Next week – w/c 23rd November 2015 – We will be using dinosaurs as a tool to develop the children’s skills across all areas of learning.
Discussion point – Next week ask your child what has visited nursery and what has it left in the water tray.
After Half Term we will be discussing Bonfire Night and talking about how we can keep safe.
Discussion Point – Talk with your children over the holidays about ways to keep safe on Bonfire Night.
We have been learning all about autumn in Nursery. We went on an autumn walk and listened to some lovely autumn stories. We have also been counting lots of autumn items that we found.
Discussion Point – Discuss with your child what signs of autumn you can see when you are out and about.
